Milt and Cissi Carl Preschool
The Milt and Cissi Carl Preschool
Milt and Cissi Carl founded the preschool at Congregation Shaarie Torah to serve the Jewish community with a quality co-operative preschool, or co-op. The Carl prepares children for kindergarten while providing a background in Judaic history.
Our preschool introduces young children to Jewish holidays and rituals in an age-appropriate setting. Small class size allows more one-on-one time, so that special attention is paid to each child's self-expression, socialization, learning skills, and emotional well being. Our educational program includes celebrations of all major Jewish holidays, cooking, art projects, storytelling, field trips, visits from our rabbi, and special guests from the community.
The Carl is also affiliated with PCPO - the Parent-Child Preschools of Oregon. A co-operative preschool is a collaboration of parents and teacher to provide your child with a dynamic, varied, family-oriented introduction to classroom interaction, and Judaic knowledge such as; prayer, blessings, tzedakah, and mitzvoth.
At Shaarie Torah and as a co-op parent, you become involved in your child's early education, a time when they will benefit immensely from your partnership. Furthermore, you will learn additional parenting skills from observing and participating. You will also be involved in the shared experience of your child's growing interest in Jewish and family living.
And last but not least, you are giving of yourself to a great cause — our children. We need you! Without your involvement, our school would not be the rich, quality educational environment that it is.
Members of the congregation receive a discount in tuition. The preschool is open to non-members and does not discriminate.
